Exploring The Chakra System

Friday, May 16th, 2008

The chakra system was discovered thousands of years ago by an ancient culture in India. That’s a simplistic way of putting it, but I want to keep this simple for now.

The best way to define the chakra system is to say it’s a map of points along the human internal energy channels. If you’ve ever seen an acupuncture chart, or perhaps even a “pressure points” demonstration at a martial arts center, you should have some idea of what I mean by internal energy system.

Essentially, there are specific points that can be found along the central meridian of our torso that relate to various mental, emotional, and physical functions. Additionally, these energy centers are a gateway to esoteric understanding and higher consciousness.

While it’s not crucial that you understand this system, I wanted to make a post about it because I truly believe anyone can benefit from the study of what I like to call transcendant health. Think of it like this:

Learning the nature of the chakra system is like studying the “source code” of the human being. You can learn to correct serious problems by addressing them at their root energies, and can open the door to higher thinking and incredible spiritual power.

Anyone who has an interest in the law of attraction and path to abundance philosophy should spend a little time learning more about the chakra system. Again, there’s no need to become an expert - just play and have some fun.

I think you’ll find even a little knowledge can be extremely empowering.

Attracting Money - Why Make It Difficult?

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Many people intuitively understand the concepts of attraction and manifesation. It’s easy to see how we create our own reality with our thoughts and attitudes.

Even before the law of attraction became a social movement, most people were willing to accept their role as creator of their own lives. Finding a wonderful mate, getting the right job, coming up with the perfect solution for a problem at exactly the right moment are all examples of creative experiences most of us can relate to.

But for some reason when it comes to attracting lots of money, many people struggle. How can it be that someone who easily attracts things into every other area of their life finds it difficult, even impossible, to manifest great wealth?

This is a complete contradiction. But I see it every day, and I have even experienced it myself.

The subject of money is powerful indeed, and our modern culture has been brainwashed into believing that wealth is elusive, difficult to attain, etc. We have the challenge of clearing out decades, even centuries, of negative energy around the concepts of money and wealth.

But the simple truth is, like everything else we might wish to attract, money is literally right here in front of us. It is no harder to manifest than a good mood or  a new friend!

We make it difficult because of our own negative, strained, and self-defeating beliefs. These beliefs often take place below the level of conscious awareness.

So what can you do if you are someone who understands the process of attraction but still has trouble bringing plenty of money into your life?

First of all, you just have to keep visualizing. Don’t allow a temporary lack of results to throw you off your path to abundance.

And second, you need to address the negative beliefs you have about your ability to attract wealth. Here’s a great exercise I learned:

Take out a piece of paper and write in great detail how you honestly feel towards money and wealth. If you don’t think you’re cut out to be rich, or if you believe money is hard to come by, write this down!

Put your full emotional attention into the writing. Really strive to feel the negative energy as you put your self-defeating thoughts on paper.

When you’re finished, read over the page a final time… and then burn it!

This is an incredibly liberating activity! As you watch the paper burn, imagine your old way of thinking going up in smoke with it.

Then spend the next ten minutes writing out your positive beliefs toward wealth. With great emotion write a complete page about why you know great money is moving to you even now, and what you plan to do with your new wealth.

From here forward, you will visualize your wealth with renewed vigor!

I further recommend you create a series of affirmations using standard index cards. Write out 5 to 10 statements that are positive and in the present tense regarding your money situation.

For example:

  1. I make new money every day and invest it wiseley.
  2. Money always flows to me from multiple sources.
  3. I enjoy my great wealth and share it freely with others.
  4. I always have more than enough money to do all I desire.

You get the idea. Say these powerful affirmations to yourself each morning when you get up and each night when you lie down, and any other times you like!

Refuse to accept negative money beliefs. Clear your old thoughts and create new, empowering thoughts you can visualize and vocalize on a daily basis.

Using this simple formula, anyone who believes can attract more money into their life!

Exercises For Improved Attention Span

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

The average person loses his or her attention span every 6 to 10 seconds. It seems in our present form we are a pretty scatter-brained organism.

But it doesn’t have to be like this. In fact this statistic applies to people who do nothing to focus their attention (and therefore their intention). Individuals who practice meditation and related exercises on a regular basis can hold their focus for extended periods of time.

Some people are naturally able to focus better than the rest of us. But for the majority, it takes work and determination to improve our attention spans and the power of our focused intention.

There are two very basic meditation exercises that can help you focus your mind sharper and longer.

The first is the basic breathing meditation. Sit in a relaxed position, allow the tension to fall away from your shoulders and hips, and focus your mind on your breath.

Do not attempt to control your breathing in any way. Just be aware of the air flowing into and out of your lungs. Observe for several minutes without interfering with the motion of your lungs.

When thoughts wander into your mind, just acknowledge them and return your attention to your breath. Doing this for several minutes a day will improve your attention span tremendously.

Another exercise you can perform is object meditation. Find a crystal, a candle flame, or anything else and, sitting in a quiet place, watch this object intently.

Relax your mind and focus your full attention on all details of this object. Allow your eyes to follow the contours of the crystal’s surface, or to watch the flame as it flickers and moves.

As thoughts enter your awareness, simply let them go and return to your observations. Doing this for a few minutes each day will do wonders for your ability to focus and direct your intention.

And as you get better at focusing, you can bring more power and intensity into your visualization practices, thus manifesting your desires more easily.
